We did the Puyallup- Part 2

We went to the Puyallup Fair again on Wednesday. It was just us girls and the Lewis family. Daddy had to work- bummer! When we first got there, we saw this giant carrot...look how big Alexis & Sammi are!
When we met up with our friends, the kids led the way. It was a slow go, but very cute.
First stop, the power equipment- maybe even more fun than the rides!
Next stop, the kiddie rides. Poor Sammi & Kaitlynn were only tall enough for one ride. Sammi cried every time Sissy got to go on a ride and she didn't. "Me, me, me..."
Siah & Alexis on the boat ride-
Alexis & Siah on the car ride-
Alexis on the helicopter ride-
The little girls had a blast on the canoe ride- the one ride they were tall enough for.
Then, of course, because its Alexis' absolute favorite thing to do at the fair, we went to the pony rides. Siah, Alexis and Sammi had a lot of fun on their ponies.
The rest of the day, we wandered around checking out the hobby hall and all the things that were for sale. It was a good day.
Alexis & Sammi brought money from their piggy banks because they wanted to buy candy while we were at the fair. They decided on some suckers. They did not enjoy their nearly as much as Kaitlynn enjoyed the one she got!

Hopefully we'll be able to go back one last time next weekend so that Daddy can come too.

Dare Devils

After we got home from the fair on Friday, we loaded up and headed to Eastern Washington to go camping. We didn't get there until late so the real fun did not happen until Saturday morning. We met up with some of Daddy's friends (including our friends Kaitlynn & Siah) to do some quad riding.

First, we just sat on them...
Sammi drinking her morning milk-
Alexis & Siah sitting on his very own bike-

And then the riding started...

First, Siah gave Alexis a little ride to show her how it's done-

Next, Alexis gave it a try. Daddy held onto the leash, so he could stop it if she got out of control.

Then, a couple hours later she was off riding by herself (with us supervising). She was a fast learner! The only time she would get off without too much of a struggle was when it was Siah's turn to ride. She loved it!

All geared up-
Even the Mommies got to go riding! Quite a surprise that the Daddies let them loose with their brand new quads!
Since the little girls didn't get to go out, they hung at camp and had some yummy chips.
Siah took Sammi for a little ride. What a nice guy. Hang on Sammi!
When they weren't on quads, the kids thought it was a lot of fun to play on the trailer. Not really sure why but it kept them entertained. One last ride with the Daddies before packing up and heading home.
Siah & Josiah-
Alexis & Kris-
Alexis was quite the Dare Devil! She keeps asking Daddy for a bike of her own. We'll see- she has no fear so it may not be the best idea. But then again maybe she'll be grow up to be a professional quad racer.

We did the Puyallup- Part 1

We went to opening day of the Puyallup Fair on Friday with our friend Jen Cruze. We went last year but were a little late and missed most of the opening parade. This year we made it on time. Alexis did not like waiting for the parade to start.
Once it started, though, she loved every minute!
Alexis & Sammi LOVE Sponge Bob-
Alexis kept asking if we would see princesses at the fair and Mommy kept saying "no, princesses live at Disneyland." But look who we ran into at the parade- Belle & Cinderella!!! This was Alexis' favorite part of the whole day.
Her second favorite part was the pony rides. She loved this last year too, and this year Sammi was able to ride.

Another highlight of the day was this giant bull. The rodeo was at the fair, so they had a bull on display.
Alexis wanted to pet it. She's bull riding fan.
We spent the day looking at animals (mostly horses), walking around and cheering for the kids Mutton Bustin. On our way out, we stopped at a photo booth and all 4 of us squeezed inside.
We'll be going back at least one more time with Daddy and the Lewises, so stay tuned for more fair photos.

First day of school!!!!

Yesterday was Alexis' first day of school. She is going to a new preschool this year. She is in the 3 year-old class at St. Luke's Church. St. Luke's is only a couple of minutes from our house. She goes every Tuesday & Thursday morning for 2 1/2 hours. She was so excited yesterday- no crying at all. Sammi, on the other hand, was so sad to leave her. She wanted to stay and play with the toys and kept asking about Sissy while we were gone. Hopefully she'll start to enjoy her special alone time with Mommy.
Waiting to be dismissed after class by her teachers, Ms. Chris and Ms. Kristin (like she doesn't have enough Krises in her life already!)

Meeting our new friend, Anna

At the beginning of August, our friend, Jack, became a big brother. After we got home from the beach, we got to go meet his little sister, Anna. She is so tiny & cute!

Sammi and Jack took a break from playing to eat some delicious cookies!

We're almost all caught up...

The weekend after we got home from the beach, we went to a surprise birthday party for Diana. Alexis & Sammi LOVED the cupcakes!! Look what the frosting did to their tongues-

Mommy has been wanting to win tickets to the Brad Paisley concert that is coming up at the Gorge this weekend. Last week, all of us girls went to the KMPS ticket give-away in Burien and we won!! The nice KMPS girls let Alexis help them pull the winning raffle tickets from their bucket & finally (when there where only 2 drawings left) Alexis pulled Mommy's ticket. Yay! Can't wait for the concert. The girls from KMPS took a bunch of pictures. Check them out if you want:

Cannon Beach

We went on our annual family trip to Cannon Beach in mid-August. We had so much fun, as always.

We spent a lot of time exploring at the rock. Alexis loved looking at the sea creatures but was very bossy!! She went up to complete strangers and pointed out signs and would tell them that only animals, not people could go on the other side of the signs. She also pointed out starfish, crabs and other sea life to anyone who would listen.
Swimming in the tide pools...brrrrr!
So tired after all of that playing-
"Fiesta night." Happy Birthday Daddy, Scott, Stacy, Sammi & Brendan!
Riding on Daddy's shoulders. It's a steep, up-hill walk from the beach back to the house.
Candies! Alexis' favorite part of the trip was going to Bruce's Candy Kitchen.
Only one day was hot and sunny. We all went to the Shoemaker's beach house to go swimming in the pool that Scott built on that day.
Family photo round 1 (not everyone was at the beach at the same time, so there were 2 rounds of pictures this year)
Sharing a milkshake. Yum, yum, yum!
Swinging at the park in town on our last night. Can't wait until next year!
Sammi and Alexis put on a lot of performances at the beach. Here are a couple.
