Ear Ache

Last night Alexis was complaining that her ear hurt. I asked if it hurt inside, assuming she had an ear infection, but she kept saying no. This morning we saw what she was talking about. I know I don't need to post pictures of every injury but this one is interesting...

Now we know you can bruise your ear, thanks to a run-in with the swing at Great-Grandma's .

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny seemed to be one step (or one hop) ahead of us all day yesterday. First, he left some goodies in our baskets at our house.

Next, he left eggs to find at Great-Grandma Doris' ("Pete's") house.
Finally, he left us some eggs to find at the Shoemaker's house. What a smart bunny! Too many candy-filled eggs and a super long day made for a not so fun night, though.

Easter eggs

Dying eggs...

Hunting eggs with our friends...

More Easter fun to come!

Potty training treat

Alexis is back to potty training. Not to be too graphic, but we have had a hard time getting her to use the potty to go #2. Finally, the bribe was good enough for her and she went. Here she is with her very first ice cream cone.

I didn't know how hard it would be to explain to a 2 year old how to eat an ice cream cone. She only took a nibble or two from the cone. I kept telling her that she could eat it but instead she licked down as far as she could and then waited for the ice cream to melt so she could drink the rest out of her cone. And for those of you who are wondering...she doesn't get an ice cream cone every time. Only the first time.

After the ice cream was gone...enjoying another warm day at the park.

Life of the party

We went to my cousin's wedding on Sunday. Alexis really enjoyed the dance music. She was quite the dancer for about 2 songs and then she was ready to go home.

All the sugar from this cupcake might have had something to do with the quick burst of energy and the even quicker crash.

(Mary & Jesus... if you are reading this, we may have to bring Alexis by the reception for a song or two. Her dance moves are pretty entertaining!!)

When the puddles dry up...

We (finally) set up our trampoline in the back yard. It's just about as fun as jumping in the puddles! Sam liked playing out in the sun, too.

Back inside, enjoying a teething cookie..

Puddle Jumpin'

Well, more like puddle fallin'. Alexis loves to play outside, especially when there are puddles to jump in. Last week, we went for a walk looking for puddles & found a HUGE one. Alexis fell face first into the puddle. We had to come straight home (good thing we were right around the corner).

Clap, clap, clap

Sam has a new trick! Yesterday, she learned how to clap. She really gets excited about clapping when she knows Alexis is watching & cheering her on.

Here are a few random pictures-

Alexis sitting on Sam's lap, saying "cheese" & looking pretty cheesy! Sam's such a good sport!
Alexis taking a nap in her baby's crib.
Samantha laughing at her big sister, having fun together.
Alexis' new look-Pig Tails!
