First Airplane Ride

This past weekend Samantha and I went down to California. We went to the Sacramento area to celebrate Elise's bridal shower. (Elise is one of my good friends from Santa Clara) Sam was a great flyer on the way down. She slept for half of the flight & played for the rest. On the way back she was a bit more fussy- we didn't fly out until 8pm. She probably only cried for about 5 minutes before finally falling asleep, but of course it felt like eternity to me. Overall, she did great!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Although they are still too young to understand, I had a really fun time making everything green on St. Patrick's Day.

First, we had a green breakfast- green eggs, green pancakes & green hash browns.

Then, we played with green dough.

Next, they took a green bubble bath- you can't really tell from the picture, though. I was afraid if I put too much food coloring in the bath, the girls would turn green.

For lunch, Alexis & I had green tuna sandwiches & green grapes. Sam was just served her lunch with a green spoon from a green bowl.

Pretty clothes

Alexis really loves wearing anything pretty ("titty") these days. It doesn't matter, as you can see, if the clothes fit...as long as they are pretty. Here she is in one of Sam's outfits & some of Auntie Michelle's stuff.

Happy Birthday (party) Anissa!

Well, we have quite a bit of catching up to do...we'll start with Anissa's birthday celebration. We celebrated with her a few days before her actual birthday. First, we went for a walk around Greenlake.

After our walk, we headed to dinner. We ended up at Rosita's for some yummy Mexican food. The highlight of the evening for Alexis was singing "Happy Birthday" and playing some great music. Well, and the fact they brought out some ice cream during the song. For Sam, this was probably the worst part of the night.

Beach Fun

This afternoon we went down to Redondo- the beach is not far from our house. First, we played at the park. We have not been to this park since late summer/fall & we were amazed by what Alexis could do today that she couldn't do back then...

Samantha's favorite part was the wood chips.

Next, we went down to the water. We knew she was tempted, but Alexis stayed out of the water. She really enjoyed throwing rocks into the water with Daddy.

Michelle, this one's for you!

When a 2 year-old dresses herself (or at least picks her own outfit)...she has a skirt, long sleeved shirt, 2 dresses, short sleeved shirt & Dora aka "duda" shoes on the wrong feet.

At least Sam doesn't have a problem with what I pick out, yet.

Play Time

A typical day in our life includes:

1) Waking Sam up -
Alexis runs to Sam's door the second she wakes up. She knocks & shouts "baby up." I usually make her wait an hour or so before I let her in. She then snuggles with Sam for a minute and pretends to be asleep.

Sam's newest trick- she can hold herself up while standing.

2) Playing with blocks & reading in Alexis' room-Jack loves to sleep in the tunnel The best part of being a big girl? The big girl bed!

3) Chasing Alexis after she escapes to the backyard in search of puddles to jump in-
